What we Don’t fund

• Organisations that are not charities, CIOs or CICs registered in the UK, unless in support of the Royal Navy or Royal Marines

• Core costs – general salaries, running costs, rent, utility bills

• Applications for less than £5,000

• Professional fees – building surveys, planning applications or feasibility studies

• Grants to individuals

• Churches or other religious bodies that are not registered charities/CIOs/CICs and that have no secular activity

• NHS hospitals or mainstream schools, colleges, or universities

• Heritage or conservation projects

• Medical research or medical research equipment

• Hospices

• Charities with an annual income of £30 million or more

• Newly established charities with less than two sets of annual accounts

• Applications made other than through our online application facility
